Book Review: I [Love] Raw by Christy Harden, M.S., M.A.
Friend and publisher Maurice Bassett, knowing I’m vegan and a huge fan of raw food, sent me Christy Harden’s latest book, I ❤️ Raw: A How-To Guide for Reconnecting to Yourself and the Earth through Plant-Based Living.
In this great guide to raw food, Christy shares:
- How to transition to a raw vegan diet
- How to thrive
- The power of raw food
- A comprehensive guide on what to eat (and what not to)
- Handling food cravings and addictions
- Detox
- Kitchen equipment needed
- Meals to make
- Meal plans made easy
- Where to shop
- How to eat out
- How to stay raw while traveling
- The raw vegan lifestyle
- and (especially important) how to stay raw.
Christy’s journey to raw food is a great story, helped by the materials of Tonya Zavasta and her son, who was already vegan.
My husband and I went raw vegan for three months several years ago, and I loved it. We didn’t go heavy on nuts and seeds like Christy recommends, which would have helped us stay raw longer and get more of the calories we needed. If you’re looking for a way to increase your health, look better and feel better, Christy’s book has you covered.
What’s your story? Have you gone raw, and if so, for how long? What percentage of your daily food would you say is 100% raw? Share below in the comments.
